About Us

We purchased our 48 acres of property in February 1997. After three years of hard work we moved to the property in March of 2000. By that summer we had arranged with one of our neighbors to use his field that adjoined our property to put in our first large garden. By the spring of 2003 we were members of the King Farmers' Market and selling fresh produce as well as jams, jellies and pickles at the King and Danbury Farmers' Markets during the summer months. We are now expanding our gardening area to include a site on our property that was cleared in September of 2008 for the purpose of planting blueberries and blackberries. We also have logs innoculated with Shiitake Mushrooms. Check back often to see what we have new in the garden.

May in the garden

This is Janis here. I went to Misteltoeholler and took some pictures today. The rose bushes by the driveway are in full bloom and the cabbages are doing wonderful. What struck me the most is how tall the blackberry and blueberry bushes have grown. We all picked strawberries and got a huge bowl full (see picture). I am glad the deer didn’t eat them up like they did the tomato plants!
